Heather and I decided to get into character.
It was really hot that day, so soaking in the culture we sought shade under our umbrella. The 260 some stairs to the Big Buddha didn't help with the heat.
At least it was a nice view from the top, with a pleasant breeze.
After a vegetarian lunch at the monastery (just ok), we took the cable car to the train station. The 25 minute ride was really nice, and the views even better. You come in by the airport, which is built entirely on reclaimed land.
That evening we joined Shane's colleagues at the Jumbo Floating restaurant. Food was plentiful, and delicious, which made up for the over the top decor!

Mmm, mango pudding, lettuce wraps, peking duck, and let's not forget the drunken shrimp!
Jolly good show.
Wow! That looks like quite a breathtaking ride. Reclaimed land? Interesting. Keep the pictures coming...
